"We revisited after a year and happily the quality is as good with very welcoming staff. We had lunch on both Saturday and Sunday. The Kings Arms do a very good range of light bites. "Love the service, love the food, and Lucy and Grant have a lot to feel proud of in their gastropub, the new wine list is very impressive, the menu provides a lot of choice but ignore the rest of the starters and go straight for the crispy squid with the squid ink mayonnaise, for main courses we were torn between the Hake, Duck, Steak, Tuna and Lamb dishes but there are also a load of veggie alternatives that I wouldn’t admit to wanting but looked very appetising. 

For those that just want a drink the Bar is well stocked and has a number of different beers and spirits as well as a host of nibbles"


"Visited early Thursday evening with friends, decor of the restaurant and bar sympathetic to the age of the building with tables laid out to provide sufficient space for diners without feeling rammed in. Attentive staff took our order for drinks and nibbles of both crispy chicken bites and spiced lamb bon-Bon’s, these arrived in good time were piping hot and absolutely delicious. Followed with main courses of rump steak, tuna salad and cannon of lamb again all thoroughly delicious using prime ingredients and cooked to perfection. We finished the evening with home made deserts and coffee again all first class. The service was exemplary through tour and in my opinion good value for the standard of food and service offers. I understand the restaurant is a contender for a national award and I for one can appreciate why"
