At The Kings Arms we have plenty of outside space to allow for al fresco dining and drinks.
We have a large open grassed garden with bench seating, parasols and background music, under our magnificent oak tree as well as a wild flower garden. The garden is also home to our container kitchen with woodfired oven and bar. This was kindly donated to us by Portable Space in Bacton during reopening in Spring 2021 and has been invaluable to allowing us to diversify our business during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Please check our booking page for dates and times for special events running through the year from our outside kitchen and bar. Expect woodfired food of pizzas and tacos as well as cocktails, all served outside direct to your table.
We also have a paved patio area with dining chairs, tables and parasols, nearer the main building. Background music to set the mood, ambient lighting, as well as blankets to keep you warm as the sun goes down.
Our outside areas are available during all opening hours for drinks or dining and is table service throughout. Outdoor tables are operated on a first come first serve basis, please make a note in the comments section of your booking if you would like to sit outside if the weather permits.
We look forward to welcoming you outside.

What Our Customers Say
Great for weekend lunch’s
"We revisited after a year and happily the quality is as good with very welcoming staff. We had lunch on both Saturday and Sunday. The Kings Arms do a very good range of light bites. We had asparagus with battered poached egg (beautifully yellow and runny) with triple cooked chips. Really good flavours and freshly cooked."
"Always our local go to. The food is amazing and the service is impeccable. Well done to Grant and Lucy for the wonderful restaurant and atmosphere they have created. They fully deserved making the finals of the Suffolk food and drink awards."
Lovely Sunday Lunch
"Visited this weekend. First time since under new ownership. Had the Sunday roast which was very well cooked, reasonably priced and presented. Service was very good. Interior very tasteful and comfortable. Will return."
Late Mother's Day Lunch
"Booked this a week ago after searching the internet - what a little gem. Sunday lunch was lovely. Nothing was too much bother. Food was lovely and the staff very attentive. When I'm up here again I will definitely be booking again."
Fantastic evening, drinks, dinner, atmosphere!
"Amazing food, brilliant choice of drinks - great gins, guest ales & lovely wine recommendation. Attentive, friendly but not overwhelming or irritating service, just perfect! One of our firm favourites for an evening especially but also for a Sunday roast."
"This was our first time to The Kings Arms, and it won’t be our last. Gorgeous food, attentive service, lovely atmosphere...not to mention a rather nice gin! Keep up the good work...we had a really nice evening"
Another fab date night!
"Love the service, love the food, and Lucy and Grant have a lot to feel proud of in their gastropub, the new wine list is very impressive, the menu provides a lot of choice but ignore the rest of the starters and go straight for the crispy squid with the squid ink mayonnaise, for main courses we were torn between the Hake, Duck, Steak, Tuna and Lamb dishes but there are also a load of veggie alternatives that I wouldn’t admit to wanting but looked very appetising.
For those that just want a drink the Bar is well stocked and has a number of different beers and spirits as well as a host of nibbles"
"Visited early Thursday evening with friends, decor of the restaurant and bar sympathetic to the age of the building with tables laid out to provide sufficient space for diners without feeling rammed in. Attentive staff took our order for drinks and nibbles of both crispy chicken bites and spiced lamb bon-Bon’s, these arrived in good time were piping hot and absolutely delicious. Followed with main courses of rump steak, tuna salad and cannon of lamb again all thoroughly delicious using prime ingredients and cooked to perfection. We finished the evening with home made deserts and coffee again all first class. The service was exemplary through tour and in my opinion good value for the standard of food and service offers. I understand the restaurant is a contender for a national award and I for one can appreciate why"
